GTS Central Europe announces good First Half of 2010 Financial Results

Warsaw, Poland – August 18, 2010 – GTS Central Europe (“GTS”), a leading infrastructure-based telecommunications operator in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), is pleased to announce strong financial results for the first half of 2010. Year-on-year, the first half of 2010, revenue remained stable at €189.8 million, EBITDA grew 7.5% to €44.4 million. The improved EBITDA was a direct result of focused changes in product mix and continued optimisation of our cost structure.

GTS Central Europe data center expansion continues with recent facility opening in Prague

The opening of the new data center, with total area of 720 square meters (sqm) is a direct response to GTS’s growing customer demand for co-location/housing and hosting services. GTS’s growing data center portfolio throughout the CEE region complements the Company’s extensive regional and metro fibre network, which interconnects all data center locations.

New unique Ethernet offer for CEE from GTS

Today, GTS Group has presented details of its new services based on its Ethernet platform, as well as plans for future development in this area. This new strategy uses the new Ethernet platform to give customers a totally flexible and scalable portfolio of managed Layer 2 services, along with substantially reduced total costs of ownership (TCO). A unique advantage of the GTS Ethernet network is its dense coverage of the whole central Europe region.

GTS Central Europe Acquires Hungarian Data Center Provider, Interware

Budapest, June 15th, 2010 – GTS Central Europe (GTS) today announced that it has agreed to acquire Interware Zrt., a leading provider of data center services in the Hungarian market. The deal is subject to local Competition Office approval and expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2010. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Bucharest, June 9th 2010 – GTS Central Europe (GTS), a leading telecommunications operator in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), announced the completion of a contract signed in December last year for the acquisition of Datek, an established and significant player in the Romanian telecommunications market. Datek’s strong corporate and carrier data customer base and strong presence in the financial and public sectors are complementary to GTS’s Romanian operations. GTS will add Datek into its existing Romanian operations, creating a combined business with total annual revenues exceeding €25 million. The acquisition will strengthen the GTS footprint not only in Romania, but also in the CEE region.

GTS Central Europe chose Alcatel-Lucent to extend high quality Ethernet services to its customers

Warsaw, May 17, 2010 – GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) has selected Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext: Paris and NYSE: ALU), a leader in fixed, mobile and converged broadband networking, IP technologies, applications and services to help deploy Ethernet services to corporate customers as well as to other international telecom carriers. Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS and business access solutions, along with professional services, will enable high-speed data connectivity across the entire GTS CE network spanning the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Romania in central Europe, along with Austria and Germany in the west.

GTS Nextra with a new name and growing income in 2008

Starting February 2009, GTS Nextra will provide its services under a new name - GTS Slovakia. The change of name is connected neither to an acquisition nor to a change of owner of the GTS Central Europe group which took place in April 2008. The company ceased to use the Nextra brand name as the three-year license to use it has just elapsed. The new name will not impact the continuity and quality of customer service in any way whatsoever.

Sales of GTS Nextra almost half a billion Slovak crowns in the first half of the year

Sales of GTS Nextra have reached 463 million Slovak crowns (15.4 mil. EUR) in the first half of 2008 representing the year-on-year growth of 15%. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased in crowns by 30% to 133 million Slovak crowns (4.4 mil. EUR). This value represented 29% of the Company sales in January to June of this year. Capital expenditures (CAPEX) significantly contributed to the growth of the Company and their year-on-year increase was almost 46%.

GTS Nextra achieved total incomes in 2007 at the level of SKK 850 million. This represents a growth of 11 % in a year-to-year comparison. Profit before taxes, interests, depreciations and amortisation (EBITDA) grew by 39 % to SKK 224 million. The company thus confirmed the growing trend from past years. Investment costs (CAPEX) reached a value of SKK 193 million and were a significant stimulus for further development of the company.

GTS to be acquired by Consortium of private equity funds

GML’s subsidiary, the shareholder of GTS Central Europe ("GTS CE"), has entered into an agreement to sell 100% of the shares in GTS CE to a consortium of private equity funds, led by Columbia Capital, M/C Venture Partners and Innova Capital (the "Consortium"). The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.

Achieving a solid underlying performance, the company’s revenues after elimination of inter-company transactions reached EUR 192 m that practically equalled with the same period last year. EBITDA grew by 20% to EUR 34,5 m compared to the same period in 2006.

The largest alternative telecommunications operator GTS Nextra achieved a total level of income of SKK 768,217 mil. last year. In interim comparison this represents a growth of almost 18 percent from the income of SKK 652,291 mil. recorded in 2005. The company is also achieving superb results in terms of profit before tax, interest, depreciations and amortisation (EBITDA), which grew in the interim by 43 % to SKK 161,080 mil.

GTS Nextra Connects OTP Banka

All bank’s 74 branches, agencies and offices throughout Slovakia have been completely connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN), including Automated Teller Machines (ATM), making use of the advantages offered by the MPLS technology.
